River Plate x Quilmes
Match was postponed yesterday due to heavy rain, but they will try again tonight. Well, odds have dropped slighlty on River but I still see some value cos im 99% sure River will win this one.
Quilmes sucked last season until Facundo Sava took over midway through the season and turned things around. Sadly for Quilmes, Sava left to take over at Racing Club and they have a new, novice coach called Alfredo Grelak whose only previous experience of management was with Chile's under 17 team. Im sure Grelak is highly rated or Quilmes wohldnt have taken a chance with him, but his lack of experience must be a worry. Quilmes also lost a lot of their best players from last season too, such as Alexis Canela who left for Chiapas in Mexico. Something like seven of last year's first teamers under Sava left in the holidays, and most of the replacements are from average or lower league teams. I think Quilmes will struggle against River Plate today, because the new players and coach are gonna need some time to gel. River have kept most of last season's squad together and will surely want to get off to a good start, so the asian -1 handicap seems to be a safe bet.
